William J. Kurtz, age 72, passed away Thursday evening in Cooper University Medical Center. Born in Bridgeton, he was raised in Vineland and Millville, and graduated from Millville High School in 1961. He served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1965. He retired in 2005 having worked for Ball Foster Glass in Millville and Leone Industries in Bridgeton for 43 ½ years. William was a Minnesota Vikings fan and a collector of Academy Award Winning Videos.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Lucinda Lee Kurtz; sister, Ann Marie Hawn; mother, Lucille Kurtz; father Edward M. Kurtz; and wife, Jean Mary Sheppard Kurtz.
William is survived by two daughters, Linda Alfieri and husband John; Karen Rieger and husband Alec and a son, Kevin Kurtz and wife Tammy; and six grandchildren, Jenna and Erica Alfieri, Ricky Gagne, Avery Rieger, Brianna Hailey, and Anthony Kurtz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral service on Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16, 2015 at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville. There will be a viewing Monday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and Tuesday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park.
