Walter Frank Silvers, 97, lifelong resident of Millville, departed the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home to Heaven on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Walter resided at the New Jersey Veterans Home for the last year. While serving his country during World War II, Walter was a Staff Sargent in the US Army Air Force. He was employed at Wheaton Glass Company in Millville for over 40 years and retired as Manager of the Decorating Department. Walter is survived by his canine companion, Mac, whom he referred to as Daddy's Honey.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassion and excellent care provided to Walter by the staff of the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Honors Circle and the comfort care provided by the Bayada Hospice family. The staff at the NJVMH became his friends and he could be found traveling around in his wheelchair socializing with as many folks he could all day long.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home – Welfare Fund. This fund supports the needs and activities of the residents of the NJVMH. The address for the Veterans Home in Vineland is 524 NW Blvd, Vineland, NJ 08360.

Per Walter's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
