Obituary

Virginia Louise Wilson, beloved matriarch, peacefully passed into heaven on the morning of Feb 21, 2025, at the age of 88.5 years. She lived an exemplary life of selfless, unconditional love for others and unwavering faith in Jesus. "Ginger" was born and raised in Millville, NJ to the late Lillian Louise (Rehmann) and Winfield Robinson Parker, Sr. A graduate of Millville High School, she briefly worked for a local law office. In 1953, she married Bill Wilson (predeceased, 2012) and raised four children on a small farm. Along with other animals, they raised goats and boarded horses for many years while Bill worked as an independent mason contractor. Ginger grew large vegetable gardens, harvested fields of corn and hay, and planted trees. Later, Ginger and Bill built the iconic Custard Corral of Millville, and ran it for 16 years, generously serving the community in the 'happiness business'. Her cheesesteaks were legendary. For the last 13 years of her retirement, Ginger lived in Devon, PA with daughter Jeanne and her family. Ginger was well known for her warmth, curiosity, encouragement, patience, and kindness. These attributes compelled her to be a prayer warrior, who wrote collections of special prayers; a people person, who loved long conversations; and a book lover, who devoured them daily and was partial to biographies, travel, and history. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing ragtime piano, and writing Amazon book reviews.

Virginia is survived by her sister, Margaret ("Peggy") Ann Thomas (husband Dr. Ardell) of PA, a brother Winfield "Buddy" Robinson Parker, Jr. of NJ, and sister-in-law Betsy Parker of NJ. She was preceded in death by a brother Neal Parker. Her legacy includes four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren: Her oldest son William Sherman Wilson and wife Cynthia of NJ, granddaughter Melanie Lambert (husband Jeff) with two great grandkids: Caleb and Madison Rose of NJ, and granddaughter Billie Suzanne Harris (husband Brad) of NC with great grandson Daniel William Hamrick of FL; her daughter Sharon Kay Milligan (husband Clayton) of NJ; her son Dr. Timothy Jon Wilson (wife Melinda) of VA, with three grandchildren: Brandon Jon Wilson (wife Briana), Evan Matthew Wilson, and Carly Elizabeth Wilson; and her youngest, Dr. Jeanne Louise Wilson Bundens and husband Gregory of PA, with two grandsons: Bryce Gregory Bundens (wife Esther) of DC, and Jared William Bundens of PA. Nieces and nephews are Arden Thomas, Jeff Thomas, Shelly Thomas, Brenda Bintz, Ruth Sassaman, James Wilson, Barbara Wenger, Janet Torrez, and Dorothy Pacitto. She is also survived by her best friend Barbara LeConey of NJ.

A private gathering will be conducted at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville prior to the Celebration of Life service where all are warmly welcome on Saturday, March 8 at 2:30 in Millville Assembly Church, 1700 Wheaton Avenue.
