Taissa Borisovs, age 87, passed to the other side to be with her loving husband, Jevogrijs, her mother and father Nikifor & Ekaterina Kourakin, sisters, Phenya Daniloff and Fanya Udaloff, and brother Michael Kourakin on August 27, 2017.
Taissa was a woman of great faith who emigrated from Riga, Latvia with her family in 1948. She worked many jobs throughout her life and finally retired at the age of 85.
Taissa enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, reading, word puzzles, and loved to grow orchids. She was a devoted church member and sang in the choir and lead prayer services. One could never meet Taissa without leaving with a candy or two from her seemingly bottomless pocket, which was full of them.
Taissa will be greatly missed by her daughters, Alexandra Gilleland, Vera Borisovs (John), and Viviane Noblett (Robert); grandchildren, Andria Bara (John) and Gregory Gilleland; great granddaughters, Jessica Esposito (Aaron) and Vanna Bara; and great great grandchildren, Katerina, Lucas, and Jaxon. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anastasia Kourakin.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 am at St. Nicholas Russian Old Orthodox Church, 2327 Newcombtown Road, Millville, NJ on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. The Funeral Service and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Taissa's memory to St. Nicholas Russian Old Orthodox Church The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Barr Funeral Home.
