Sara M. Porch, age 91 of Millville, passed away Tuesday afternoon October 14, 2014. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.
Born in Millville, she was a lifelong resident and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. Sara retired from Kontes Glass in 1988 and in her retirement she volunteered at Millville Hospital, Newcomb Hospital and South Jersey Regional Medical Center. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Sara enjoyed traveling with her group-the "Go-Go Girls" and was also a key member of the "Old Ladies Club". She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband Merritt G. Porch, sister Catherine Macken and her 2 brothers, Walter and Frank Mullen.
Sara is survived by: her sister, Ada Mullen, 3 nieces and 5 nephews, Leroy Porch and wife Delores; Kathleen Bevill and husband Douglas; George Macken III and wife Patti; Joseph Macken; Catherine Everland and husband William; Thomas Macken, Sr. and wife Ida; Patricia Macken and Anthony Macken and wife Catherine; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sara's funeral service on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 AM to 12 Noon followed by the funeral service 12 Noon in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville.
