Obituary

Pastor Frank Sharp, age 74, of Millville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, with his family by his side, after a long illness. Frank was born and raised in Port Norris and graduated from Millville High School in 1960. He graduated from Taylor University in Indiana and later attended Wesley Seminary in Washington, D.C. He began his business career at Farmers and Merchants Bank, Millville Savings and Loan, Young Men's Savings and Loan and retired from Colonial Bank where he was branch manager and vice-president for 25 years. He was called into the ministry in January 1972, which was always his first love. He served Aura and Monroeville Methodist churches, then Country Road Bible Church in Pittsgrove, and, finally, retired from Harvest Bible Fellowship Church in Monroeville. For ten years of his ministry, he produced, with the help of William Garrison, a radio ministry called "Heaven Bound" that was heard every Sunday afternoon. Pastor Sharp was devoted to his parishioners and the preaching ministry; however, family always came first and he never tired of talking about his children and grandchildren.
His favorite pastime was baseball and he played varsity all four years at Millville High and started all four years of college. During the summers and his adult years he enjoyed playing in the Oyster League, but most of all, he loved playing with and coaching his sons and grandsons who came to enjoy the sport as much as he did. When too old to play, Frank and his son Mike would enjoy attending Phillies' games every summer.
Left to mourn his memory and celebrate his life is his wife of 52 years, Lynn (Metsger) Sharp; his sons Dr. Frank Jr. of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Michael (Melissa) of Mullica Hill, and his daughter Victoria Clark of Millville. He had four grandchildren whom he adored- AJ and Jordan Clark and Camryn and Michael Sharp. He was also survived by his brothers Dr. Harry W. Sharp (Susan) of Erial and James Sharp (Wanda) of Hawaii, and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Sharp was predeceased by his parents, Walton and Helen Sharp, and his aunt and uncle, Florence Ewan and James Cobb.
There will be a viewing on Sunday evening (12/11/2016) from 6-8pm at the Barr Funeral Home in Millville and from 10-11am Monday morning at the Harvest Bible Fellowship Church, 439 Monroeville Road in Monroeville with the funeral service starting at 11am. Burial will be in the Chickory Chapel cemetery immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Harvest Bible Fellowship Church, c/o Polly Deal 360 Three Bridge Road, Monroeville, NJ 08343.
