Myrtle I.
Dowler
d. Jul 11, 2022
Millville
Myrtle Irene Dowler, age 91 of Millville, passed away Monday morning, July 11, 2022.
She was born in Belleplain, NJ, to David and Pearl Harris. She has been a member of the Haleyville Methodist Church for over 63 years. Myrtle had a child-like enthusiasm for chocolate and snacks, even though she readily told everyone she had diabetes. On grocery shopping day, she could hardly contain herself as she waited to see what snacks would appear from the grocery bags, often snacking before the bags were unpacked. She doted on her family, especially her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face when she saw them. Myrtle was always ready with some toys when the great grandchildren would visit. She loved family gatherings, yard sales, Goodwill store bargains, and taking her canine buddy, Gidget, for walks around the neighborhood.
Myrtle was predeceased by her parents, David and Pearl Harris; husbands, John Dobrosky and Joseph Dowler; brother, Horace Harris; sisters, Glendora Lamadelain and Anna Mary Harris; and sons-in-law, Steve Johnson and Leslie Hanby.
She is survived by her children, Donna Giberson of Lutz, FL, Mike Dobrosky and his wife Joy of Haleyville, NJ, and Diane Hanby of Millville; sister, Clara Dayton; grandchildren, Diana Wertovitch, Michael Dobrosky and his wife Alison, Christy Thompson and her husband Al, Matthew Johnson and his wife Marie, and Kyle Johnson and his wife Katie; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Myrtle's viewing and funeral service on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville. There will be a viewing from 9:30 AM to 11 AM Saturday, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be in Haleyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Haleyville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 13, Mauricetown, NJ 08329 or Angelic Hospice Care, 8025 E. Black Horse Pike, Suite 501, West Atlantic City, NJ 08232.
