Maurice G. Zimmerman, Jr., age 57 of Newfield, passed away Friday afternoon in Cooper Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Maurice attended Millville Schools and was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, where he received numerous musical awards and recognition. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Millville. He had been a resident of Newfield for over 30 years.

Maurice was a salesman and had worked at several men's stores, most notably Sam's Mens and Boys Store formerly in the Cumberland Mall. He is pre-deceased by his father Maurice G. Zimmerman, Sr. and stepfather Peter Karwowski.

Maurice is survived by his mother Lillian Karwowski; three daughters, Theresa Zimmerman, Heidi Diemand and husband Jason, and Laurie Tomlinson and husband Joseph; sister Mary Zimmerman-Bayer; step sister Bernadette Karwowski; step brother Joseph Karwowski; former wife and friend Lois Zimmerman; 2 grandchildren; niece Katharine Bayer, nephew Stephan Bayer and companion Elizabeth Lombardo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing and funeral services Tuesday, April 2nd and Wednesday, April 3rd at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville. There will be a viewing from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday and from 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday morning at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial for close family and friends will be in Red Clay Creek Church Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
