Marijke Hadley Huntley 

February 22, 1970 – September 3, 2026

Marijke Hadley Huntley, 56, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 3, 2026.

Marijke was born on February 22, 1970, in St. Maarten. She grew up moving between St. Maarten, Alabama, Kansas, Lesotho, the Netherlands, and Cedarville, NJ. In her adult life she lived in Port Norris, NJ, for 27 years and four years in Hammonton, NJ. Growing up in so many places gave her a love for the wider world and a deep curiosity about people and the stories that shaped them. That curiosity led naturally to her career as a high school history teacher in Egg Harbor Township, where she brought the past to life for her students, whether it was in the form of a Victory Garden, a Roaring Twenties party, or a tie-dye party.

In January 1996, Marijke married Robert Huntley, and they shared more than 30 years together. She loved to garden, to travel, and to hear live music, and she was happiest with her hands in the soil, planning a new trip, or listening to a band play.

Marijke is survived by her husband, Robert Huntley; her son, Gerard Huntley; and her brothers, David and Pieter Casius, as well as her father, Gerard Casius . She was preceded in death by her mother, Francine Casius.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Five Points Inn in Vineland, New Jersey.
