Lorraine Ann Barnes (nee Tozer), 84, of Millville, NJ, died on Saturday, March 17, 2018, in her home attended by her niece, Jennifer Tozer.

Lorraine built her entire life where she was born and raised. She was a graduate of the 1950 Class of Millville High School and later an active volunteer in the Eagles Auxiliary and the Second Methodist Church Clothes Closet. Lorraine was valued at many industries, such as a jewelry store, a bank, a laundry service, a glass products company, and her longest employment was at Prudential Insurance Company.

Lorraine found her greatest joy in being a mother and homemaker. Armed with a list and a calendar, Lorraine organized her home (and others') never missing a birthday or a holiday gift to neighbors. She charmed young children with laughter, a laden toy box, and forbidden treats. Even as the family anchor, Lorraine opened the world to her sons, encouraging them to find their success and happiness away from her.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late Jennie and William Tozer, the wife of the late Howard Barnes and sister to the late Bill Tozer and the late Joan Gibbs.

She is survived by her three sons, Jerry Barnes of PA, Ward Barnes of AZ and Brian Barnes of MA, her brother Richard Tozer of CA and two grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

The Barnes Family wish to recognize the years of kindnesses, companionship and helpfulness of Lorraine's neighbors and friends.

A Memorial Service will be open to the public at Barr Funeral Home at 2104 East Main St., in Millville, on Saturday, April 14 ^th , at 2:00 PM. Visitation with the family will be from 1 PM to 2 PM.

Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made to the Millville Rescue Squad, or an act of kindness to another in need may best honor Lorraine Barnes' generous life.
