Obituary

Linda L. (Low) Headley, 66, a lifelong resident of Maurice River Township passed away suddenly on November 1, 2013 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

Beloved by many, her heart was won on a late afternoon in 1963 when Linda met the love of her life, Emroe, as she walked home from Millville Senior High School. They courted and, despite the draft, married four years later on February 11, 1967 and were inseparable ever since.

As a newlywed, Linda worked as a switchboard operator for the Millville National Bank. She later worked as the office manager for Vineland White Trucking.
At 26, she was chosen as the Queen of N.J. Highway Transportation at the 19th annual convention of the New Jersey Motor Truck Association in McAfee.

After ten years of marriage, the young couple received what Linda affectionately referred to as, "her miracle" - Kara Faith - their only child. When Kara was born, she took time off to watch her daughter grow, and then returned to work part-time at Vineland White until the company closed in 1982. She worked hard to give Kara every opportunity in life and was extremely proud of her daughter's accomplishments, of which she told almost everyone she met.

A consummate people-person, from her days in the trucking business, Linda always wanted to be in sales and knew she would excel in the field. She finally decided to take a real estate course and obtained her license on January 20, 1987.

Her first foray into the business as a Realtor® was with Fox & Lazo of Northfield and its successor Prudential Fox & Roach, where she spent most of her successful career, which spanned over 25 years. She worked briefly in 2012 for Century 21 Graham Realty and most recently at Coldwell Banker Excel Realty, both in Vineland. Known for her dedication and excellence in service, Linda went above and beyond for every customer. No one worked harder than Linda to sell the unsellable or find the perfect house, even for the most challenging buyer. She received the NJAR® Million Dollar Sales Club Award from 1987-2001 and the NJAR® Circle of Excellence Award from 2002-2008 and 2012. Even in this down market, she was on track to receive an award for 2013, having one of her best years in the business. Her success was a direct result of her passion for the industry and desire to help others.

Linda was a beautiful person, inside and out. Her selfless devotion and endless capacity to love were instilled in her from a young age. Her loyalty to her family and friends, many of whom were lifelong, was immeasurable. She was beloved, kind, generous, and well-respected by everyone whose lives she touched. When she was not working, she enjoyed sitting outside and admiring the results of her husband's yardwork. She also took pleasure in the quiet times spent with the couple's poodle, Maggie, and in caring for the many cats that appeared on their doorstep over the years. Her time with us was too short, and she has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Emroe; daughter Kara; sister Beverly J. (Herbert) Apel of Parrish, Florida; brother Bruce G. (Terri) Low, Sr. of Millville; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Kenneth W. Low, Sr. and Josephine (Lombardo) Low; and two brothers, Kenneth W. Low, Jr. and Marshall P. Low, Sr.

Visitation will be held at the Barr Funeral Home, located at 2104 E. Main Street, Millville, on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 10-11 am, with services to follow and burial immediately thereafter at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made in Linda's memory to Millville Rescue Squad, 600 Cedar Street, Millville, NJ 08332.
