Leona Schaffer Brown (Abbott), age 89, of Millville, passed away Saturday morning at Inspira Healthcare in Vineland.

Born and raised in Salem, NJ, she has been a resident of Millville for over 42 years. For most of her life Leona was a homemaker, but later in her life she had worked part time in the Millville Schools and at Wheaton Candle.
Leona enjoyed poker, bingo, and bowling, and had bowled until the age of 83. She was a die-hard Phillies fanatic and was crazy about Elvis. She liked her weekend outings to the flea mart and loved spending time with her family and her cat, Elvis. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Brown; her parents, Leroy and Florence Schaffer; her brothers, Leonard (Lucky), Richard and Frankie Schaffer.

Leona is survived by, 4 daughters, Sharyn Holmberg (George), Debra Falzone (Alex), Cynthia Lamanteer (Barry), and Wendy Abbott and her fiancé` Artie Brelsford; one son, Edward Abbott III, step-son Stuart Brown (Ann), 11 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren, and numerous generations of cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Leona's funeral service 11am Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Barr Funeral Home . There will be a viewing from 9 to 11am Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
