Obituary

Keven Carter Canning died on July 24th, 2016 in Port Elizabeth, NJ at the age of 39. Keven is survived by his mother, Debby Morris; grandfather, John Pfefferkorn; brother, Jason Morris; and Uncle, Chip Morris; Chip's wife Linda Morris, and their daughters Amy Morris and Carrie Evans of Uniontown, PA.
Keven Canning was born on May 26th, 1977 in South Laguna Beach, CA. He spent his early years in Capistrano Beach, California. Keven followed his passions and his heart through his life. As a young man he worked for several seasons at the Cedar Point Amusement park in Ohio to follow his love of roller coasters. He spent several seasons at Keystone Resorts in Colorado to be closer to the snowy mountains and snowboard. His love of the natural world led him to dedicate time as a crewmember of the tall ship AJ Meerwald in Bivalve, NJ and to oyster restoration projects with the NY/NJ Baykeeper. While working full-time at the Outback Steakhouse, Keven made the time and commitment to earn two Associate Degrees from Brookdale Community College in marine biology and biology. Keven's dedication and love of the sciences led him to pursue a career in solar energy.
Keven made lasting friendships and inspired everyone around him with his compassion, sense of wonder, generosity, and gentleness. His humor, contagious laughter, and spontaneity were unique. Keven lived for the moments to share his enthusiasm for the natural world, especially the Delaware Bay, with people of all ages. He was an active and dedicated steward of the Maurice River where he could be seen often paddling his kayak.
