John R. Zellers, Sr., known to most as Jack and or "Squirrel" age 84, passed away Fri., Dec. 13, 2013 at Inspira Hospital, Vineland. He was a lifelong Millville resident and had been in failing health for the last 2 years.
Jack was well know from working at Airwork Corp.(Dallas Airomotive) for over 35 yrs., as well as working for over 30 years, part-time, at the former Otto's Bar. He was an avid fan of the Millville Thunderbolts – football, baseball, wrestling –an active member as well as having been a former past president of the Thunderbolt Club, and he enjoyed "working the chains" at the Millville High School football games in earlier years. Even when he could no longer drive his truck, he could be seen "driving" his electric wheelchair to the Thunderbolt home games of both football and baseball. In his younger years, he enjoyed hosting his Friday night poker games for a great number of years. More recently, he enjoyed selling 50-50 tickets at the Millville Elks #580 Thursday Night Bingo games…He had been a member of the Millville Elks for over 32 yrs, and was a Lifetime member. He never missed watching his Cowboys' football games and his Phillies' baseball games and enjoyed discussing the games with his brother Art. He also enjoyed doing his puzzle books and watching his favorite TV shows.
Left to cherish his memory are: wife, Naomi Zellers, daughter, Jill Zellers, brother Art Zellers(Doris) one granddaughter, Joey Mulholland(Matt), grandsons Justin Truitt, Joshua Zellers(Beth), Jason Zellers(Melissa), 2 cherished great-grandsons, Easton and Campbell Mulholland, daughter-in-law, Joanne Zellers, sisters-in-law, Eloise Zellers and Sophia Zellers, mother-in-law, Elsie Kenney, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Elmira Marcucci, brother-in-law ,Rudy Kenney, and sister-in-law, Judy Riley, and several nephews and nieces, and pet dog, "Funny Girl."
Jack was predeceased by his parents, George II and Elsie (Gandy) Zellers, his first wife of 48 yrs., Geraldine (Jenkins) Zellers, his brother George Zellers III, and his son, John Zellers, Jr., and pet dog, "Erin"
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville. There will be a viewing from 1 to 3 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 3 PM. Burial will be private.
