James A. Bennett III, age 82, of Maurice River Township, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Maurice River Township, Jim was born in Millville to the late James A. Jr. and Irene (Todd) Bennett. After graduating from Millville High School, he dedicated his life to his community and his craft. For 37 years, Jim worked as a Foreman for Wheaton General Machinery in Millville until 1998. Following his first retirement, he continued his career as a Correction Officer at Southern State Correctional Facility for 15 years.

Beyond his professional life, Jim was a man of distinct passions. He was a proud member of the Model A Restorers Club and spent many happy years traveling to car shows, sharing his love for vintage craftsmanship with fellow enthusiasts.

Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife of many years, Linda (Logan) Bennett, in 2022; his son, "Sonny" Bennett; and his brother, Donald Bennett (Suzanne).

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Sharon Dubitsky and her husband David of Galloway, and Kevin Bennett of Cumberland; his grandchildren: Erik Ebinger and his wife Kiersten, and their daughter Emma of Franklinville; and Bradley Ebinger of California.

His Siblings: Janice Moore and her husband Larry of Heislerville and Brian Bennett of Texas.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Following the service, light refreshments will be served at the Cumberland United Methodist Church, 5215 Route 49, Millville, where friends and family can continue to share memories of Jim's life.
