Howard J. Young, age 91 passed away November 25, 2020 at the Hammonton Center.

Howard was a lifelong resident of Millville and lived in the house in which he was born at 1118 West Main Street. He had worked at Prudential Insurance in Millville and had been promoted to Supervisor before his retirement. In his youth he was active in the Boy Scouts. He was a Master Mason in Shekinah Lodge #58. Howard served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He attended Mt. Pleasant Church.

Howard enjoyed sailing, camping, photography and woodworking. He was a jack of all trades- equally skilled in electric, plumbing and carpentry, and was always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed the company of his many special dogs that he had during his lifetime. In the summers he spent his time at Oakridge Resort in Marmora, where he made many life-long friends.

Howard is survived by his wife, Joan Young of Hammonton and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Lydia Young and his first wife, Delores "Tootsie" Young.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hammonton Center and his caretakers from NJ Health Hospice especially during the pandemic for their care and attention.

A graveside service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Donations may be made in Howard's memory to NJ Health Hospice, 415 W. Landis Ave, Suite 100, Vineland, NJ 08360 or to an animal rescue of one's choice.
