Gretchen E. Bruner, age 86, of Millville, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born in Long Beach New York, Gretchen graduated from Long Beach High School in 1956. She has been a resident of Millville since 1974. She was employed as a custodian for Millville Schools, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, volunteered in the church office, and had also been active in the Millville Elks.  She took an active role in her children's lives- serving as a youth soccer coach, transporting them to all of their activities including Civilian Air Patrol and Millville Band Boosters and as a Room Mother for the PTA.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald, brother, Walter and her parents, George and Freida Kachel

She is survived by three daughters, Jennifer Bruner (Pete) of Ave Maria, FL, Elizabeth Bruner (Kathleen) of Orange, VA, Victoria Watson (Les), one son, Timothy Bruner (Paulette), one granddaughter, Brittany Eddy Johnson (Scott) of MN, and 2 nephews, Eric and Christian Kachel.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2025, from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 E. Main Street in Millville. Funeral service 11 AM Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Millville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gretchen's memory may be made to St. Paul's Church, 301 N. 3rd Street, Millville, NJ 08332 or Suncrest Hospice, 901 W. Lincoln Drive W, Suite 100, Marlton, NJ 08053.
