George L. Waltman, age 93, of Millville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024, at Inspira Medical Center.

George was born in Millville Hospital and was a lifelong Millville resident. He graduated Millville High School, class of 1948, and served in the Army from May 1952 to April 1954. In 1954, he joined his father in the operation of The Waltman Agency, the family insurance business, until 1992. George was very active in his community and was a member of Nabb-Leslie Post 82 American Legion and St. Paul's Church in Millville where he served as Treasurer and Recording Secretary for many years. As a member of the Millville Kiwanis Club from 1956 to 2023, he served as Secretary for 21 years and President for 1 year. He also served as Secretary of Holly City Swim Club for many years and was a member of the Millville Red Cross Chapter for over 25 years, and served twice as Chapter Chairman, was a Charter Member of the Millville Jaycees in 1956 and served twice as President in 1958 and 1961, and a Member of the Board of Directors of Millville Savings Bank since 2008.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Harry R. and Lenore C. Waltman, brother, Albert R. Waltman, and sister, Helen J. Smith.

George is survived by his wife, Violet Jeane Waltman, whom he married in February 1958; children, Carol Ann Sieber (Gerald), Alan J. Waltman (Mary Ann), and Sharon Dickson (Robert); grandchildren, Robert W. Dickson IV, Marie L. Dickson, Heidi R. Dickson, and Joseph L. Dickson, and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private for the family in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
