Elfrieda "Ellie" Taylor, age 83 of Lawrence Township, passed away Tuesday morning, January 3, 2023.

Born in Borodino, Romania, her family settled in Germany at the end of WWII. Emigrating to Ohio with her family in 1952, they moved to Seabrook, NJ, in 1954. Elfrieda attended Bridgeton High School and graduated in 1959. Soon after graduation, Ellie began working at Prudential Insurance Company in Millville where she spent many years as claims supervisor until her retirement in 2002. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and served as the financial secretary for many years. Ellie enjoyed knitting, gardening, and caring for her animals. She was avid baker and was well known for her apple cakes and her Christmas cookies.

She was predeceased by her parents, Christian and Elsa Maier, daughter, Karen Locker, sister, Wilma Lewis and nephew, John Stahlberger.

Ellie is survived by her husband of 49 years, David Taylor, daughter, Suzanne Gilbert, grandchildren, Chris Gilbert, Becky Betz and Hollyann Wettstein and a great grandson, David Betz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellie's memorial service 2 PM on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville.  Visitation will be from 1 PM to 2 PM.
