Edwin W. Baker, age 93 of Millville, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2013. Born in Haleyville, he was the son of Edwin and Florence Taylor Baker. Ed had served in Navy for twenty years and attained the rank of Chief Boilerman, retiring in 1961. He then worked at the Philadelphia Naval Yard for 20 years as a black seal certified engineer. Ed was a member of Shekinah Lodge # 58, F. & A.M. and was recently honored on his 55th anniversary as a Master Mason.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris may Baker.
Ed is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Mischka , and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 12 Noon Thursday, November 21, 2013, in Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville. There will be a viewing from 11 AM until 12 Noon. Burial will follow the service in Haleyville Methodist Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Ed's memory to St. Paul's Church, 301 N. Third Street, Millville, NJ 08332.
