Douglas (Doug) John Shea, age 77, of Millville, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024.
He was born in Philadelphia in 1947 to John A. Shea and Helen Coombs Shea. He grew up in Millville. He received his AS Business Administration degree from Cumberland County College, and took technical courses provided by IBM. Soon after college, Doug charted a new course for himself and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he spent most of his life. There, he worked as a computer programmer, business owner and senior developer, working on IBM AS400 mainframes, most recently at Royal Caribbean. Doug was best known for his dry humor and making people laugh. He loved to travel and was always surrounded by a close knit group of friends. Doug moved back to South Jersey in 2020 to be near family. He was one of the first residents at The Landing, a premier assisted living facility in Sewell, NJ. He was named Dougie Fresh by an employee there. Everyone who knew him had a big smile at the mention of his name, and a funny story to tell about his antics around the community.

Doug is survived by brother Ron Shea and his wife Carol Shea of Millville, nephews John David Shea of Katy, TX and Scott Shea of Millville, half-sister Patricia Shea of Millville and numerous friends and acquaintances who will fondly remember Doug and will miss him dearly.
