DOROTHY (HEGGAN) ABRAMS

A beloved Mother, Grand-Mother and Great-Grand-Mother died peacefully with her children by her side on September 7, 2013 after a courageous battle on Life Support. Sudden illness took her rapidly as she was placed in the South Jersey Health Care now known as "Inspira Hospital" located in Vineland.
Born during the Great Depression on November 8, 1931 and raised in Winslow Township, Dorothy started work at an early age on her family's farm. Later in life she worked as a Sale's Clerk, Waitress and Seamstress. Once retired, she worked as a Security Guard for the JC Plaza High Rise where she resided for 20 years.
For those who knew her can admit that her favorite Job was being a Mother and Homemaker. Having raised 8 children in the town of Atco and proud of each and every one, she was constantly catering to their needs by just being there for them. Mrs. Abrams had a Great sense of humor even during her last dying days she loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, sewing and knitting. Along with those, she was an avid bingo player. Dorothy was famous for making the Best Cheese cake and Pumpkin pie.

Abrams, all of Cumberland County; Ten Grand Children in Orlando, Florida; and twenty other Grand Children residing here in N.J. ; a sister, Audrey Leadly and husband James Leadly; and a brother, Wayne Heggan of Waterford Works.
