Dale William Shropshire (76) went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on December 15, 2021.  Dale was born in Millville, NJ to Herschel Shropshire and Viola Shropshire Plasket (Heun). Dale lived his entire life in Millville.

Dale graduated from Millville High School in 1963.  He briefly attended Goldey Beacom School of Business when Vietnam interrupted his schooling when he was drafted into the Army in 1966.  He served from 1966 to 1968, during which time one year (1967-1968) was spent in Ben Luc, Vietnam.

Upon returning from Vietnam, he entered the business world which became an important part of his life. From Wheaton Industries to Alcan Packaging, Dale worked his way through the ranks ending his career as Director of Pricing at Alcan.

During those years, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Cain, in 1968.

Dale loved to travel and looked forward to seeing and exploring new places. In recent years, he cruised with his cruise group friends to many islands in the Caribbean. He also enjoyed his trips to Alaska, visiting London, Paris and Brussels along the way, but the place he loved to travel to the most was Disney World, taking many trips with friends and family through the years.

His other loves included NASCAR, attending many races throughout the country, reading his favorite Clive Cussler novels, but his biggest love of all was his family.

Dale is survived by his wife, Bonnie Shropshire (Cain); son, Damon Shropshire, daughter-in-law Christine, grandchildren Allana and Brayden; brother-in-law, Douglas Cain; nieces Jessica and Myranda Cain, nephew Brett Cain, nieces Tracy Chance (Harry), Candy Romanik (Tim), nephews Robert Shropshire (Stephanie) and Patrick Shropshire (Jennifer). Dale was predeceased by his father, Herschel Shropshire, mother, Viola Plasket, and step-father, Howard Plasket and brother, Jerry Shropshire. Dale will be missed by many other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dale's funeral service on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville, NJ 08332.  There will be a viewing from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home, followed by the funeral service at 12 PM.
