Carol E. (Lane) Smith, age 79 of Millville, passed away Tuesday morning, January 19, 2016. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Born on January 5, 1937, Carol was a lifelong resident of Millville. She had worked for Wheaton Glass and Holly Heights School cafeteria. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 26 years. Carol enjoyed Elvis Presley music, her dogs (especiallyDusty), and spending summers with ther family in Ocean City and on her husband's boat.
Carol is survived by: 2 sons, Ralph H. Fowler and his wife Julia of Mankato, MN, and Michael L. Smith of Millville; sister, Edna J. Moiso of Ocean City, NJ; cousin and best friend, Carolyn Duncan; 3 nieces, and 4 nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edythe E. (Garrison) and Ralph H. Lane, Sr., husband, James L. Smith, brothers, F. Sherman Lane and Ralph H. Lane, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited a to attend Carol's funeral service 12 Noon Monday at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville, where there will be a viewing from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family requets in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Central Baptist Church, 9 N Second Street, Millville, NJ 08332 or Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.
