Brenda M. Smith, age 69 of Millville, passed away Saturday evening with her family at her side in South Jersey Regional Medical Center in Vineland. She was born in Reidsville, NC, and has been a resident of Millville for the last 45 years. Brenda was a wonderful friend, mother and wife who loved to cook, knit and sew. She often made beautiful afghans for those she knew- a gift treasured by those who received one. She made friends easily and was affectionately known as "mom" to many that knew her.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 44 years, John W. Smith of Millville; mother-in-law Robena Smith; two sons, Matthew W. Smith of Newfield and Robert J. Smith and his wife Kelli of Millville; two grandsons, Kenny and John Smith; one brother Edgar Muse of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law Ronald W. Smith and nieces and nephews, Tori and Jake Muse and Jared and Amanda Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Brenda's funeral service 11 AM Friday at the Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street in Millville where there will be a viewing on Thursday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM and Friday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
