Obituary

Barbara Bell Barbour passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 76. Barbara was born in New Brunswick, NJ on November 6, 1948.  She is survived by her four children, Rebecca MacAdam (Michael) of Saegertown, PA, Tommy Barbour (Gina) of Ocean City, NJ, Lily Saavedra (Carlos) world citizens, Sarah Howard (Caleb) of Millville, NJ and her sisters, Linda Bailey, Connie Jones, and Karen Paugh. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom and her father and mother, Ivan and Jean Bell.

In 1988, after spending many of their summers on Atsion Lake, Tom and Barbara built a log cabin and relocated to Laurel Lake, NJ.  Barbara began a professional career as an elementary school teacher and later transitioned to a homemaker to care for her four children. She later served with Tom at the Christian Life Center in Waveland, Mississippi, to help people rebuild after the area was heavily impacted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Barbara enjoyed singing, humming, sunsets on the lake, baking, cooking, and spending time with her 12 grandchildren (Levi, Emma, Cora and Toby MacAdam, Caeli and Kaia Barbour, Carly, Elia, Lucas and Lila Saavedra, and Ava and Bethany Howard).

Barbara's life was characterized by a strong faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and a deep commitment to her beloved husband, Tom of 49 years.
