Anne Dehnel Barbetti, age 81 years, of Ocean City, passed away Sunday evening, September 26, 2021. She was formerly of Vineland, Millville, and St. Thomas.

Anne graduated from Vineland High School and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medical Technology and Cytotechnology. She also attended Mercer County College Funeral Service program, graduating with honors. In 1976, she joined her husband in the operation of Barbetti funeral Home in Millville, NJ, serving as secretary, licensed funeral director, hairdresser and cosmetologist. Upon retirement, she and her husband realized a life-long dream and moved to St. Thomas USVI, spending equal time there and their home in Ocean City, NJ. She was a member of the Ocean City Yacht Club.

Anne was actively involved in civic activities during her residence in Millville and served on the Board of Directors for Cumberland County Jr. Miss Committee, NJ Jr. Miss, and NJ Jaycee-ette Keywoman Club. She was a former member of St. Ann's Guild and American Society of Clinical Pathologists. In 1978, she was honored as Millville's Outstanding Citizen of the Year. She served as Executive Director of Millville Chamber of Commerce from 1980-1984, was past Secretary-Treasurer of the NJ Federation of Planning Officials, Southern Division, graduate of Rutgers Zoning, Planning, and Municipal Land Use Courses. She served as Past President of the International and Buena Jatcee-ettes, was a charter member of Millville Jaycee-ettes as well as serving in many leadership positions in various clubs.

She was active in the American Cancer Society and served on the Cumberland County Board of Directors, was past president of the Cumberland County Unit, served as the Cumberland County Crusade Chairperson and Chairperson for the Cancer Prevention Study II. In her spare time, she taught cooking classes for the Millville Continuing Education Program.

Anne is survived by her husband of 59 years, H. Wayne Barbetti, of Ocean City.

There will be a viewing Friday morning from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Barr Funeral Home, 2104 East Main Street, Millville, NJ, followed by a service at 11:30 AM. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
